The Set Works!
David has spent the last 18 years making films and TV programmes. He has recently returned to the UK having Designed Nick Broomfield’s “Battle of Haditha” which filmed in Jordan. Having worked on Michael Winterbottom’s “A Mighty Heart” ,”In this World” and most recently Rowan Joffe’s “Tom Hurndall” for Channel 4 ,the chance to work with Franny on Crude was unmissable.
Production Designer and Sphynx: This ten foot sphynx was the largest single prop on the drama set and difficult to get off the truck when it arrived. Here Production Designer David Bryan moves it into the light to ensure the cameras can pick it up, as it was at the back of the drama shoot.
Production Designer and Caravaggio: Production Designer David Bryan moves a replica of Caravaggio painting on the drama set. These paintings were digitally printed on canvas and then framed by David's team. Date: January 2008 Location: Carpet Warehouse in Neasden, London.
Production Designer and giraffe: This stuffed baby giraffe was one of the most striking props on the drama set. Unfortunately it's difficult to see it in the final shot.
