singalong with Iraqi kids
Director Franny Armstrong (left) and Producer Lizzie Gillett (right) singing La Bamba with a group of Iraqi refugee children. The filmmakers took them for a day trip to the dead sea and because the kids couldn't speak English and the filmmakers couldn't speak Arabic they communicated through shared songs; La Bamba and Eminem were the common ground.
They also set up a scheme where western donors paid the school fees for Iraqi refugees living in Jordan and helped 131 kids go to school.
