Stupid North of the Border
Yesterday, MSPs on Scotland's climate change committee watched the film in front of a full house in Edinburgh and took questions from the audience. Scotland is currently debating a climate change bill which could be world leading, but Patrick Harvie (Greens), Shirley-Anne Somerville (Scotish National Party) and Cathie Peattie (Labor) were made to answer tough questions about new coal in Scotland, airport expansion and the trouble with endless economic growth.
Hundreds of people pledged to come along to the climate rally outside the Scottish climate bill on 22nd April to make sure the point hits home. Earlier in the day, our first schools screening had kids asking the folks who put together the curriculum to help get local food in the canteens, renewable generation in the playgrounds, and the abolition of homework (to save paper!). 90% said they felt hopeful and inspired by the film to do something different in their own lives.
