Vroom vroom, poop poop
Gasrec Limited, a waste gas reclamation firm based in the South-East have very kindly donated us their ridiculously glamorous Lotus, pictured above. This unlikely example of an environmentally friendly vehicle is powered solely by the gas generated by the decomposing remains of London's waste, at landfill sites around Surrey. Although this remains a fairly expensive way to generate energy so far, it is doubly helpful as it prevents the methane from floating off into the atmosphere, where it would cause over 20 times as much warming as an equivalent volume of CO2. Using this gas to power a sports car is perhaps not the ideal - but it is nevertheless rather sexy. Gasrec's CEO has agreed to chauffeur on the day - what we haven't decided yet is who gets to arrive in it.
