A new eco-film, made with cash donations, has premiered in London.

The Age Of Stupid

Set in 2055, The Age Of Stupid looks at the impact of climate change

The Age Of Stupid predicts how bad life will be if people don't act fast to stop climate change.

It is not so much a film but more of a crusade.

This drama documentary set in 2055 foretells a world that has been decimated by a failure to act on climate change.

And while it may be part fiction, the people behind it say it is based on fact.

"Our generation is the one that has the power to either solve the problem or not solve the problem," the film's director Franny Armstrong told Sky News.

"And so every single person, do you want to be a part of that or do you not want to be a part of that?" she asks.

The Age Of Stupid is fronted by Oscar-nominated British actor Pete Postlethwaite.

His casting came after Franny the director googled him and found he had green credentials.

Postlethwaite said: "She did Google yes, she found that we'd applied for planning permission to get a wind turbine, so she said 'you must be on side'.

"And now I feel completely part of this team that's doing this whole thing."

Produced independently, the film has been funded with donations from eco-supporters.

Art dealer Frederick Mulder is one of them - he fronted up £12,000.

Standing in the kitchen of his London home, he told Sky News: "Climate change is the defining issue of our generation and if we don't get it right then future generations are going to have to pay.

"This film is a really good opportunity to move public opinion along further than it already is."

The filmmakers aim is for 250 million people to see the movie before a new world climate change agreement is signed in December. For them, this is a rallying cry.

:: The Age Of Stupid is in cinemas from March 20.
