Read all about the world record beating People's Premiere here.
Normal film premieres are glitzy and exclusive, with nobody invited except VIPs - but the People's Premiere is different: VIPs, IPs and plain old Ps are all welcome to the world's first INclusive film launch. Featuring synchronised screenings at a staggering 60 different cinemas across the nation. With a solar-powered cinema tent pitched in London's Leicester Square, the People's Premiere is also the planet's first truly green film premiere - no greenwash allowed.

Becky HurstBecky has been working for Christian Aid in the North West as a Volunteer Development Officer for just over three years. Christian Aid is an International Development Agency who work with people of all faiths and none. We work with partner organisations who are based in the poorest communities and who have local knowledge and understanding of what is most needed. Christian Aid is part of the Stop Climate Chaos Coalition because our partners have been telling us for years that Climate Change is making life even more difficult for the poor of this world. I have travelled to Sierra Leone and the Philippines and saw first hand evidence of this. I met farmers and fisher folk can no longer predict the seasons with any certainty which makes it almost impossible to sustain their families, never mind earn a little more to help them work their way out of poverty. Climate Change has predominantly been caused by the developed world yet it is those in the developing world who are suffering the most – Climate Change is not just an environmental issue it is a justice issue. |
Kristina Goodwin-JonesI've been campaigning for climate justice since first getting involved with the Camp for Climate Action in January 07. I've been a key member of the site practicalities and police and council liaison working groups for the last two camps at Kingsnorth Power Station and Heathrow Airport, as well as doing a lot of work within the North-West neighbourhood of the Climate Camp. I'm one of 29 people still awaiting trial after occupying a coal train that was heading into Drax power station in June 08. At the end of this year I'll be hitchiking to Asia, where I plan to live for three years working within the grassroots environmental movement there and raising awareness of climate science and sustainable solutions amongst some of the people who will be affected soonest and worst. I believe that it is too late to lobby governments and corporations and rely on them to change their ways and that we, as responsible individuals, must take direct action to confront the profit-hungry powers that are threatening the future of our planet as we know it and reverse the harm that they are doing. I believe that the solutions to the climate crisis will come from collective, local organising at a grassroots level and redistributing power so that we all have an equal say in how best to tackle climate change. |
