131 Iraqi kids had a year's school fees paid by sponsors from the US, UK, New Zealand, Bermuda, Australia and Holland. Below are the emails they wrote in response (with a little help from Khulood, the coordinator of the scheme).

Oct 2007 update
The Iraqi school kids project is finished and had an unexpected happy ending. This year the Jordanian government decreed that all Iraqi kids could go to school for free. So we happily didn't need to continue the program.
There's another group doing similar work who also need financial support:
