P to the P

Lizzie continues her whistlestop tour of every film and climate change related event within 1000 miles of Stupid Towers with a a trip to the Edinburgh International Film Festival, to speak as part of a two-day event called "Tales from the Digital Frontier" run by Power to the Pixel.

Lizzie spoke to an assembled bunch of indie filmmakers, distributors and producers for 30 mins, presenting the story of Stupid as a case study.

geeks

They were impressed by crowd-funding, gobsmacked by Indie Screenings and incredulous when Lizzie started telling them about barmy plans for the global premiere and live satellite linkups. Look closely - everyone in the audience is just a bit gutted they didn't think up all this mad stuff themselves.

She also spoke on a panel with other filmmakers who advocate self-distribution through the internet and thought Lizzie was very old school for talking about cinema releases, and TV sales. M Dot Strange, for instance, distributes his work via 'torrentrical' release on p2p file sharing sites...

Four people offered to 'buy' our Indie Screenings model, which we never know what to say to, so she just passed them on to Ben, our Indie Screenings Tzar.
Power to the Pixel want us to go back in October and update them on the success (or complete failure) of our attempts to pull off the world's biggest and greenest film premiere. More on that stupidity soon...
