One of the remotest countries to take part in the global premiere (they were the first "Indie Premiere country to see the film), it is also one of the countries most at risk from rising sea levels. Even there, where you can already see the affects of climate change, people could still be doing more and so the show of support for The Age of Stupid was fantastic.

This was the screening we were really looking forward to. The first email we received from Ivan Oswald of Cafe Nambawan, Port Vila, Vanuatu included a picture of the screen that the film would be projected on. When we saw it we were all very excited but not quite as excited as we were when we received the photos on the day of the premiere.

 The email below is from Ivan;

Thanks Ben,
Everyone loved the movie – a standing ovation! Thanks for allowing us to play it.
Of course though the government officials and climate change people (besides the volunteers) didn’t show up…. Unfortunately even though Vanuatu is already affected by climate change not enough locals care to do anything about it . unless they make personal money from any decision they make. The Chinese, Japanese et al. pay way too much to government officers for them to make an educated decision. Plus most government officers don’t have an education or have travelled. They are more concerned with getting free 4WD’s or overseas junkets to care.
 
A sad story, but we are working to change it slowly.
Greenpeace arrive back tomorrow  so we will get some more publicity for the environment – they were here last month and we played “home” and “earth, the CEO even gave a quick talk….
